I lost my original Sony batteries and charger while filming (on the sea bottom) so I took them and was very surprised. The batteries are of good quality and charge quickly. The best part is that they last a long time during the shoot.

This charger won't charge my batteries. I have charged NPF970 and 550 and it just won't charge. The LCD always shows "zero" and there is no charging indicator. Batteries just stay the same even if left on for 2 hours. I really wanted to like it, but it just didn't work for me.

This charger does not appear to be able to provide 2 amps at 8.4 volts 2 amps to both batteries at the same time which is 33.6 watts, but the power supply can only provide 24w. It would be closer to 1.5 amps per battery. I currently only have one NP-F battery, but have ordered another one to further verify how much current this charger will provide. Good product. Works perfectly. Charges fast I think due to the power supply (12V) which some might find a disadvantage but I think the charging speed is worth it. USB devices don't charge as quickly, and time on set matters a lot. I use the Black Magic Pocket 6k and 6k Pro so they need constant charging on set so I can keep changing batteries. I have several NP-F chargers but they are very weak and take forever to charge. I think my other two max out at 800mAh per battery. Even with a current of 1A, this significantly reduces the charging time. But the 1.5A and 2A charging modes are just a SHOUT compared to other chargers I own. I don't mind slower chargers for small batteries, but big ones (4000mAh and up) take a long time with slow chargers, so it's a big help.
