Let me start by saying that I only keep this tray for one reason - it's the only tray I've been able to find in the exact sizes I need. That being said, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who wants an exquisite serving tray for any reason. This is similar to what your child would do in Shop class. The color isn't walnut but more of a reddish brown, no finish, it's raw wood, it's called Rustic but looks rough rather than rustic. The stain will wear off, so don't put it directly on furniture or it will transfer the stain. So unless you live deep in the woods, you can keep looking for something closer to what you want for this tray that would be worth it.
