They are MUCH better than I thought! My 6 and 2 year olds love them (as do my husband and I). They're well built, feel good in a kid's hands, interchangeable clips encourage imaginative play, the range is fantastic! We live in town and can still get to 1/2 mile easily - and NO problems in and around our house. I've used regular batteries and they seem to last quite a while. An added bonus is that you can use rechargeable batteries directly with your devices with the appropriate USB cable. This will definitely be my favorite gift for my friends!
