Review on ๐Ÿ• Large Dog Tieout Trolley by Petmate by Stacy Glasrud

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pliers, WD-40, a soft harness and a dog and you've got all you need. Five stars.

We ordered this for our little Boston Terrier and I'm incredibly impressed with how easy it is to set up and use. The only thing missing from the product image is the "leash" itself! Yes, it comes with a lead cord - I ordered the 20 foot because I didn't see it included in this set. What is included is shorter, I think 12 to 15 feet (I didn't measure because we ended up using a 20 foot wire which I bought separately as we already had it). I put a screw in the deck rail for hanging - it was difficult to start but then I was able to turn it by hand. When I couldn't do it anymore, I grabbed a pair of pliers and twisted it like this. You then install the spring so you can pull hard on the other end of the line during installation. Make sure you put the pulley on before you attach the other end! I placed our other end on a branch and secured it with staples. It's been over a week of daily use and it hasn't sagged once. My only complaint is that the clip that attaches to our dog's harness has already started to rust just from lying in the grass - I'd recommend an occasional light coat of WD-40 and maybe a place to hang the hook if Your dog it's not outside. It's probably common sense too, but please don't put a collar or garrote on your dog. It will take time for your dog to get used to this - ours gets tangled up at times and I shudder to think what would happen if he was tied with a collar instead of a padded harness. In any case, great product. You probably won't need any special power tools for the installation. It also seems to work for very large dogs. I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend WD-40 to keep your dog's coat rust free.
