Do yourself a favor and don't buy this rack. Yes, it's easy to assemble and install on a car, but it's generally unstable. I recently bought it and use it to transport my bike on the various bike lanes around the city. I am always very careful when riding this rack as the hooks simply slot into the top of the rack and are not reinforced in any way. The bike rack was fine most of the time, but at one point I had to drive through small speed bumps in the parking lot. Although I crossed them very slowly, the buoyancy of the car overcoming the speed bump and the weight of the bike on the rack caused one of the hooks to pop out. When I was able to park, the bike dangled from a hook and scratched the back of my car (photos attached). I know many of you reading this may be thinking of "speed bumps" or something, but believe me I was already cautious about bike rack design and drove EXTREMELY CAREFULLY when it was in my car. The hooks are flat, square, pieces of metal and come out very easily. Polishing those scratches on my car costs me more than a much nicer ($100+) frame. Learn from my mistake and just buy a better rack if you need one.
