Review on ACDelco CF1194 Professional Retrofit Without by Joshua Castillo

I felt it was important to post this review to help other owners of the 2009 Silverado 1500 and related vehicles. While this part number indicates (and is) a cabin air filter for a 2009 Silverado (and I assume all similar 2008 thru 2013 GM vehicles) it should be noted that these vehicles do NOT come with factory cabin air. Filter, and the compartment for this filter is HERMETIC (cast into the fan housing). To use this filter you will need to cut open the plastic housing (filter access port area) under the passenger dash after removing the dash lower skirt to gain access to the filter compartment itself. After the access hole is cut out, you will need to purchase a CABIN AIR FILTER KIT to plug the hole once the filter is installed and to hold the filter in place as the cut out removed cannot be used. This is NOT a simple modification and should only be done if you feel you have the ability and desire to ADD a cabin air filter to your 2008-2013 General Motors Truck. This will take several hours and re-attaching the dashboard can be nearly impossible. You can google "Is 2XXX [vehicle description] comes with a cabin air filter" and check the relevant user forums.
