The adapter works, plain and simple - let's start with that. Interestingly, the adapter was unsealed from the factory, and the ASUS trademark was clearly obscured by a "power adapter" sticker. To be honest I can't tell if it was 'used' or not, but it's clear someone physically touched it before it was boxed. This replacement weighs 1.1 ounces less than the original. The $50 price tag isn't great, but I knew the other offerings were undoubtedly Chinese fakes that posed a risk of fire or breaking my laptop. This adapter was at least the same model number as listed on the OEM it replaced and I was under the impression that it was at least part of the OEM line or refurbished. unless, of course, this manufacturer is dumb enough to mistakenly produce under the ASUS brand. If it happens more than 6 months after this rating I will increase the rating from 4 to 5
