Review on πŸ”’ Advanced Fasteners - Loopbelt Scratch Reversible by Ben Duncan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Does what it promises for little money.

I bought these to wear under the waist belt of a backpack where the belt buckle is uncomfortable at best or painful at worst (wish someone had good hiking pants with a drawstring waist and a 36 Customs service) . I have found that under my backpack waistbelt it works best if I buckle the belt and then slide the overlapping piece back where it can lie flat rather than under the backpack buckle. Bonus: Since the size is almost infinitely adjustable within their range it's still perfect even if you've lost a few pounds on the trail. The belt is very flexible and has no stiffness so you can't hang more than one knife on it or it will want to tip over. It does what it's supposed to do well and at the price, what can you go wrong? It's a little harder to put on than a regular buckle belt, depending on size, not everything fits between the belt loops so zip the zip about to the half, then put your belt on and fasten the rest (or I suppose you could just slip it through the belt loop). I'm medium height and my waist is about 33 inches. This is ideal as it means that all 9 inches of the hook and loop overlap and neither of them are visible. As others have mentioned, it's not the softest material in the world and I think it would bother me if it were open and my hand touched it. It also tends to snag on other Velcro or fabric you don't want to come in contact with (like the mesh pocket for my Anker battery pack). So be careful, a shopper could easily ruin a good sweater, but then again, why would you want to wear a good sweater with that belt? Someone mentioned that the strap tended to wrinkle a bit where the hook and loop was sewn on, mine did at first but seemed to heal itself after a bit of use.
