Pros: affordable, comfortable, excellent coverage, strong but soft protection. Cons: Not as smooth as some others, but heavier than smaller/smooth pads. They have strong Velcro straps both above and behind the knee, as well as padding on the side of the knee and upper calf. Wearing them in around 100 degree heat (99 confirmed via radio in a nearby town) I can vouch for the ventilation of these things. Well, they won't bring the temperature down in this heat, but they're no worse than my shoes or other protection. They look bigger than they really are, but they're heavier than a pair of knee pads. But the fact that they cover part of the calf, above and below the knee and side of the knee makes it a real winner for me. Walking is fine but they are not designed for hiking. I really like them - I hope you do too
