Review on Wella Multidimensional Demi Permanent Lightest Blonde by Kristen Jain

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Neutralizes gold tones but darkens by 1 1/2 levels.

This is a purple based semi permanent salon hair color. Purple neutralizes gold tones in blonde hair. Color Touch works about 1 1/2 levels darker, so it's actually level 8 1/2. You can use it as a toner by applying it to damp hair and leaving it on until the golden tones change. If you leave it on for too long you may end up with too deep a purple or gray hair that no one wants. This shade is mixed with 4 oz developer per 2 oz color or in a 2:1 ratio. Any good 10 volume cream developer will do (please do not use store brands or generics, they contain less conditioner). I add a few teaspoons of argan oil or marula oil for extra conditioning. Color Touch leaves hair soft and really shiny unlike Sally's color sets or trash. This is a salon brand, so expect salon-worthy results. I mix this shade with an equal amount of 10/0 so I don't get too much purple. It's inevitable that my hair will go too golden and this formula has worked really well for me. If you have some gold, you can use more than 10/0 and less than 10/6. 10/0 is a neutral shade that is also great for covering gray hair. You can apply the mixture to dry hair if you want it to last longer. However, keep a close eye on the color change, sometimes it only takes 2 minutes to neutralize the gold. That's true for me. My hair gets colored very quickly as it's very porous from regular coloring and bleaching (thanks to Olaplex!), so I apply it to damp hair. Color Touch can be applied with a brush, but it is better to use an applicator because it is faster and the aim is to completely saturate all the hair as quickly as possible, since the neutralizing action starts immediately. This tint does not affect orange tones, just FYI. This is a completely different problem that requires a blue base. There are no blue bases in Color Touch. If you suffer from excessive gold tones and need a product to get rid of them, then you won't find anything better than Color Touch. This shade is suitable for blondes level 8 and below. If you're really light blonde, you'll need to use something else. There are no lighter levels in Color Touch than level 10, which is actually level 8 or 8 1/2. I definitely recommend this shade and Color Touch in general. I've been using it for 10 years now and I really like it. I get compliments on my hair color all the time. A salon product that delivers salon results. Try it and you will see.
