Worth every penny. on Activity & Entertainment

This is amazing. I can't wait to get them for my son for Christmas. The floor is a plastic tile with non-slip foam on it. On top is a transparent plastic tile with a texture. The liquid is completely sealed. I highly recommend. The tiles are huge, 9 pieces in a box - perfect.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Nothing here

Heavy strain on activity centers

Received these as part of the Donors Choose project. I'm very impressed with how durable they are. Kindergarteners can be rough, but they are resilient. The kids used them as part of their educational games and I personally jumped on them. Slammed and folded by little hands, they look just as perfect as when they arrived! I have recommended them to all my teacher friends.

Pros
  • Great overall performance

Very Hard Material - Activity and Entertainment

I bought these for my 5 year old who can't walk or speak and I'm not very happy. They seemed soft and jelly-like, but they're actually very hard plastic or acrylic (something like that). The reference photo shows a boy crawling on it but I can't put my son on it so he can try to hit it, it's too hard and he can't tell me. You have to step on them or apply good pressure to make them work. And some colors are very similar.

  • Great Price

I like the different colors of each tile

I like the different colors of each tile. The durability of the tile is strong and the tile stays on the carpet in the classroom. My only disappointment is that the colors in the tiles don't move or change as much as I would like when students jump on them. We use them in a 3 year old class. So they're roughly between 30 and 40 pounds. Tiles are ideal for children who need to release their energy in a structured way by jumping from tile to tile.

Pros
  • Few competitors

Rework/rework needed

To be honest I bought these after my son loved something like this at the clinic. Well unfortunately far below our expectations and should have had a rubber border or self-adhesive backs to keep them in place. The problem is that they slide all over flat ground as it was recommended to only put them there. They really aren't that colourful/attractive (lots of duplicates, need more variety!) and I wouldn't buy them again. The only + and why it got 3 stars and not below is that so far they have…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Safety issues in play centers

They look very cool and unless you have a kid who can pick individual tiles off the floor you'll probably be happy with them. I figured (due to the nature of liquid filled sensory items) they would be soft. You are not. They are very rigid with sharp corners. Aside from permanently mounting these tiles in a wooden frame, there's no real way to make them a safe addition to a sensory space for anyone curious enough (with the requisite fine motor skills) to pick them up and turn them over to see…

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Fragile
