Easy to clean with hot water, soap and a sponge. I haven't washed it in the dishwasher so I can't say. Plastic parts hold up well when stored in a drawer. I would not store the TV where it will be exposed to the sun's UV rays as the plastic will likely deteriorate prematurely. After several months of sporadic use just to cut eggs, none of the cutting wires came loose. I shy away from trying to slice denser mushrooms, and my previous all-metal slicer, for example, failed when the cutting wire came loose. Basically, I use a disc that cuts the eggs into round medallions, just like my old folding cutter. I love that I can also use the other included cutting discs to cut eggs into wedges and other shapes. I bought an egg slicer and it works fine. I also appreciate that the device includes a yolk separator and the slicing discs and base fold into a compact unit for easy storage. When I made the purchase it was originally supposed to be 2 packs but I only received one set. Revain support did a great job in customizing my purchase. So far I am very happy with the purchase.
