I was looking for a more structured hidey bed for my guinea pig where a lot of the caves collapse too easily and she ends up laying on top of them. This does the job for that, as the walls are reinforced with foam sheets to hold the shape. HOWEVER, I’ve run it through the washer 4x now (washing once a week like most guinea pig things), and it started falling apart after the first wash. There are several holes in it that she didn’t put there because it came out of the wash that way. I have to unfold the foam inside the back wall after every wash because it isn’t reinforced like the others to stay in place; I have to do this from one of the holes in the fabric and work it around til it’s back in place.The bottom is most definitely not water resistant. You can see from the image how the light shows right through the fabric, so you can imagine what happens with pee. It gets thinner and more transparent with each wash. In the other image, you can see that the raised dots on the bottom for grip all fell off by the second wash except for one.The pros are that it’s very roomy for her, cute, and soft. I can cover the included pillow with fleece baby blankets to go longer than a day without washing it if she pees on it. She really enjoys spending time in it, and it was still the only very structured bed I was able to find and not expensive, but I thought it would hold up a little better than it has so early on.
