My dryer door handle broke within the first year of using the Amana dryer. I bought this as a washer and dryer set for about $1,000 from a reputable home appliance retailer in Loveland, Colorado called Jay Days Appliances. It was a brand new home and this home was originally purchased by another family and for reasons unknown to us we were unable to complete the purchase so our agent took action and asked us to view the home. When we bought this house in May 2016 as money was tight I thought I could buy a better set if I had saved some money. Seriously I will never buy from this seller again. Since the previous owner asked me to select the right equipment before buying, I was very grateful to the buyer for the good taste. Well that's where the story goes south. Appropriate devices may look great, but their durability is simply lacking. They have given nothing but headaches for 6 months after installing them. I firmly believed that Frigidaire is a brand where everything is reliable, durable and great. Now I understand that the device is not programmed to last more than 5 years. This refrigerator broke after 6 months. The problem was with the ice machine. I called the appliance company I bought the fridge from and he came out twice and on his third trip he said none of the fridges were rated to last more than 2 years. Are you kidding me? The company "Household Appliances" informed me for the 4th time that they can no longer send craftsmen beyond the city limits. (It's funny because you can sell them to people who live as far out of town as I do. Very strange ethics if you ask me. I live about 7 miles from the city limits. Yes, I live in the city ", it's just not in this town so I understand. But I assure you there were no shipping restrictions on the devices I bought as long as they were paid for at all. Now for my Amana doorknob rating. About a 2 Years later My fridge fiasco, my plastic handle on the door broke so I called the Jay Days company to order a replacement but when told it would cost $36 plus tax and a $6 handling fee I said no thanks i ordered from revain and it was $5.97 any major hardware stores are seriously a joke when i ordered the part from jay days they said it would take 7 days to ship here and then I would have to go to the S drive into town to receive and return the part. d Oh my. Probably an hour round trip. I saved $36.00 and Revain shipped the exact same part that this equipment company would sell me. oops oops! Revein rock!
