So much cheaper than buying GE's rip off filters just because of the rfid chip. So just removed the rfid from the bypass and slapped it on these and boom, filtered water that tastes great.

I was surprised how fast they were delivered. Filters are easy to install, Fit our GE profile refrigerator perfect, great tasting water!

Considering how many times this filter listed on the page when I searched for the specific filter that this one is saying it is not for, I ended up ordering it by mistake and ended up throwing it out. ebay should not allow this type of description as it creates confusion and contributes or erroneous orders and a costly endeavor for the consumer. Since I had opened the package, I was not able to get a refund and this order was a total waste of money.

The Mr Iceman water filters are a perfect replacement for the 50.00 GE in refrigerator water filter. Just pop the chip off of the original one that came with the refrigerator and tape it to the Mr Iceman filter or tape it to the inside of the filter compartment. Again works great.

So. yes I have a GE fridge that needs a $50 water filter every 6 months. Looks great but I did not read the fine print. These are great but you do need to jailbreak your fridge with a bypass chip. Search YouTube. It’s easy. These are great but only rated for 200 gallons so yes you do need to change every 6 months on avg. cheers Alta

Filter is direct replacement for outrageously expensive GE product. Installation cannot be easier. Flip up door. Filter pivots up. Pull it out and reverse steps. Run water until it turns clear.

A waist of money. I nestled it correctly and it said water leak detected. Tried a million different way and still nothing. SO I decided to use another one of the package and same problem occurred. I called GE and they told me only the original work. So I went ahead and ordered Original and of course it worked immediately. Now I am stuck with these and $50 waisted. So upset!

I think the water tastes a little better with GE filters but not so significant that I feel that they are worth the added costs. The water is noticably better when it is filtered. My son and I drink more water from the refigerator because the filter make it taste significantly better. The ice also tastes better.

They work perfectly as long as you can salvage the RFID tag from an OEM filter and place it in the same area of the replacement filter housing. Don’t waste your hard earned cash on the GE OEM cartridge with the RFID tag. Beat the man at his game!

JUST USE AN OLD CHIP TAPED ON THE SIDE OF YOUR NEW FILTER! Works great. Water tastes fine. GE frig may say you haven't changed your filter in umteen months, but tape the old filter chip in the correct position facing the body of the frig, and ignore the warnings. I think extra chips may be available for purchase also. (It's the same game with your copier ink cartridges to keep you spending lots of dollars on the OEM ink.) For GE RPWF filter replacements.

I ordered 4 of these for my General Electric refrigerator. These filters were not compatible with my unit even though it said it was. The window for replacement is closed. Very disappointed since I spent my hard earned money on these and they don’t work.

I have a newer (2021 purchase) GE fridge and took the RFID off the old filter as others recommended and replaced with this filter. The fridge does not recognize the filter. I can unplug the fridge and it will work for a bit but eventually shuts off. Off to buy the real thing. Had I known GE abused customer like this I’d have never bought a fridge from them. These do not work if you have a GE fridge! BEWARE! We had to have a tech come out because we thought that we broke our dispenser. Come to find out it was the off brand filters. We will be buying the branded ones from now on. These do not work if you have a GE fridge.

Did the hack, removed the rfid chip from the bypass filter. Installed this filter, flushed it for 5 mins, then checked it with my TDS meter. The water from my tap measures 410 TDS (total dissolved solids). With the stock GE filter the TDS comes down to 280 and the water from the fridge tastes fine. With this filter the TDS still measures 400 but the water tastes fine also. Not really a direct replacement for the GE filter. I'll try another brand, these don't seem to be doing as good as the…

When I went to replace our GE filter and saw the price for one I almost lost it. $50 for a filter is way to high. So I searched for alternatives and landed on this one. The flavor is great and I can't tell a difference from the original filter. They come in a 4 pack so it will last us 2 years!

Unfortunately these filters did not work with my GE café refrigerator. The refrigerator identified a leak, and the filters did not fit like the OEM filters did.
