Did not work with newer model GE Fridge
I have a newer (2021 purchase) GE fridge and took the RFID off the old filter as others recommended and replaced with this filter. The fridge does not recognize the filter. I can unplug the fridge and it will work for a bit but eventually shuts off. Off to buy the real thing. Had I known GE abused customer like this I’d have never bought a fridge from them. Not really a knock on the product at all as I assume activated charcoal smooshed into a cylinder really isn’t that hard to make and I’m sure it would produce water just fine.
- Very good value, about 1/4 the price compared to OEM from big box stores.
- Not actually compatible with GE model GFD28GELBDS. DO NOT BUY!
