So. yes I have a GE fridge that needs a $50 water filter every 6 months. Looks great but I did not read the fine print. These are great but you do need to jailbreak your fridge with a bypass chip. Search YouTube. It’s easy. These are great but only rated for 200 gallons so yes you do need to change every 6 months on avg. cheers Alta
