First impressions of these lamps are very good. Time will tell if they last long. I've included some photos so you can see how these bulbs compare to regular 50w halogen bulbs. In the image where the lamps are off, notice that the lens of the LED lamp on the right is opaque compared to the halogen lamp on the left, which is transparent. This causes the light output of the LED bulb to be a little softer and less clear than that of the halogen bulb, which works well in my case. In the image where the bulbs are lit, notice that the halogen bulb on the left directs some of the light back through the fixture, while the LED bulb on the right does not. That doesn't bother me either, but anyone who relies on this effect will be disappointed. The color warmth of halogen and LED bulbs is very similar, a nice white light that doesn't get too yellow on one side of the color spectrum or blue on the other. the price I paid. They use 90% less energy than the halogens they replaced and produce very similar lighting. I will change my rating if one of the lamps stops working prematurely.
