I'm a small "curvy" woman, so many options for slings and camera straps don't suit me very well, especially when I use them a telephoto lens. I ordered this for a trip that has a lot of hikes planned hoping it would work to keep my camera ready but keep my hands free from stress. Anything on a hip would make my camera bounce around my knees, and anything on a backpack strap would be very uncomfortable. Tried the Skout Sling today and it's perfect. I have a 16 inch torso so I attached the straps around the middle of my chest. I can easily walk around with my Nikon 200-500mm with the lens hood on and have my hands free. It's a bit fiddly to take it out of the mount, but it gets easier every time I do it, so I guess it's just a custom setting. The camera is stable, secure and conveniently hangs straight down or slightly to the side. The strap is also comfortable under a backpack. I hardly noticed he was there. The only downside is that I have to use a separate tool to loosen the hub if I want to use a tripod. I'll try the Arca adapter to see if that helps. If so, then this would be the perfect solution!
