The first attribute I look for in quality thread is suppleness. There should be no visible fluff. Second, I check for damage. I want to be able to break it with my bare hands, but not too easily. If it doesn't break, it could damage my car. Too much lint creates lint, which has the same effect. To prepare a balanced review, I tried this on both my Brother PE 770 and my Pfaff Creative Performance. In both cases, you must either place the waffle on the table or use a cone holder or coffee mug. I give 10/10 to Pfaff and 9/10 to Brother. I want my machines to last and I want to be able to stitch both large (Pfaff) and small (Brother) items and everything in between (both) without the bobbin area check error messages. Considering that Pfaff Creative Performance is identical to Viking Ruby, and that Brother and BabyLock are essentially the same, I have no hesitation in giving 5 stars as I think it will work well for most home machines.
