I did a lot of research before choosing the Aoyue 866 Rework Station and I am happy with my choice. The rework area is a good size for the circuit boards I work with and doesn't take up much space on my desk, although it's a bit high with the heat gun in the holder. The hot air blower replaces the diaphragm pump with a small fan that is common in other repair shops. I found the fan to be smooth and quiet enough with enough heat and airflow to remove the ICs. It has worked well for the limited amount of rework I've used it for so far. The included Aoyue "Tool Box" is small, only 9-3/4 inches wide, but large enough to store all spare tips, attachments, and heating elements. The only complaint I have is the 6 PCB holders. that come on top of the device. They're used to clamp the panel you're working on over the screen and you can use the heat gun while it's in the mount so you can keep your hands free. I think it's a good idea and I could position the hot air nozzle right over the chip I wanted to remove and have both hands free. In any case, I complain that the edges of these 6 aluminum rods are very sharp. thick aluminum sheet, but I forgot to bevel the edges. If I have some time I can file the edges but since they are there it would be easy to cut yourself on them. Other than that I am completely satisfied with this repair station so far.
