It's the perfect addition to our winter gear! My kids (most kids?) are reluctant to wear hats or hoods, but they like to wear them so their little necks are better protected from the freezing wind we get. This soft layer also prevented my youngest son from zipping the jacket all the way up - I guess the zipper no longer bothered his chin area. I am very happy with the thickness, size and stretch level. The small size is good for my 4.5 and 6.5 year old. The little sister will definitely get it next year!
