I bought this for our sailboat because of its water resistance. We have a sailboat with a marine (car) stereo in the cabin. On the top we have to turn up the stereo to hear it on the top. Of course, that made it uncomfortable to go down. I bought this speaker to put on the patio. Well since we bought it we haven't turned on the stereo. It pairs easily with my mobile phone, Moto X, and rotates adequately. It's pretty rough and ready to be partially encased in rubber. It also has a very strong ring at the top where I hang it with a carabiner. The battery has a very long life and I can easily move the phone at least 30 feet. Everyone who comes on board thinks it sounds great.
