I got this light over a 36 gallon bowfront corner and it's bright enough for low tech rigs. The Alternantera maintains a nice red tint in this light, so it's probably "moderate" for this tank. I like the programming aspect, but there are a few key caveats that prevent this review from earning 5 stars, even at this price point. First, as many other reviews point out, the remote control is clunky and unintuitive to use. Check out some YouTube videos and add the instructions! Second, because you're limited to just 3-hour increments, it's difficult to get the photoperiod you really want. Specially designed for a low tech siesta tank to increase CO2 levels. I'd like a nice red sunrise and sunset, but using the 9 o'clock time doesn't fully illuminate until noon. It would be nice to be able to program in increments of 1 or even 2 hours! In general I am satisfied. The light is very pleasant, with colorful fish and plants.
