Review on Ultimate Protection: Tan Universal Waterproof Hammock Back Seat Cover for Pets - Majestic Pet Products by Phillip Rodriguez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Better than sheets but not perfect

UPDATE - I've been using this cover for 2 months now instead of 2 weeks when I first reviewed it. I am changing my rating from 4 to 2 stars for a number of reasons. 1) It does NOT keep my apartment clean. A combination of many factors resulted in dirt and water getting onto my leather seats. The seat cover is VERY slippery when the dog jumps/gets out or moves; often their wet, dirty feet land on the seat. The trunk's upper rear corners fold down now that it's not new, revealing much of the seatback. A bit of dog hair has accumulated in the Velcro seat belt slots and the Velcro no longer stays closed no matter how hard I try to clean it. 2) One of the velcro seat belt slots actually came out entirely on one side of the material and I had to sew it back together. All in all, I need to buy another seat cover. This one just doesn't work. I think it must have lasted over 2 months. I would not recommend this product. First Review: I've searched everywhere for the perfect seat cover for my new car. I couldn't find "perfect" and chose this one. Its strengths include: a waterproof pad wide enough to cover a 2014 Nissan Altima with an extra inch or two on each side. Cons: The clamps don't stay where you put them, the cover slides easily to reveal the seat when the dog jumps in the car. There is little you can do with the latter other than try to take cover if the dog jumps in. it's still not reliable with my dogs. To avoid loosening the clasps, I positioned them and then knotted the entire strap just behind the clasp. This seems to hold it in place, but I haven't taken the lid out of the car very often, and this is where the biggest problem comes in. The cover is slightly shorter front to back if you want it to go straight to the bottom of the headrests on both seats. It also has long Velcro slits for threading the harness through. I couldn't see it in the picture. I didn't want any gaps thinking it would just be another place for dirt to get onto the seat. So far the velcro has held and that hasn't happened. I use 2 weeks. Finally the description says there is something on the bottom holding it in place. It's just not true. It would be great if that happened. Overall I'm glad this cover protects my new leather seats from the water and gravel my two Australian Shepherds bring into the car. That doesn't stop a dog of this size from putting his front paws on the center console, even if I pull them up as high as possible. I would like one of these covers to be constructed with hanging sides to reduce side to side impact on the seat when the dog jumps in. That will do for now.
