Received last week. The first impression is positive. It's the perfect size for my wife to take in a trolley to our youngest daughter's softball tournaments, and fits in the back seat or trunk for weekend trips to our oldest daughter's basketball tournaments. We often have to part, but she can't. We carry our big igloo around so we can throw it away. Buying a rotomoulded Engel 50 High Cooler, which has a large volume and a narrow footprint so we can haul hard-walled weekend ice and carry the Engel HD30 in and out of the car to the fields (long walks) or to the hotel room : Internal insulation is thicker . NEON INTERIOR makes finding items easier (big plus). Convenient side handles (the woman is unlikely to use the shoulder strap as it would pull her down). Front zip pocket for phone etc. Solid flat bottom will not tip over like most hard wall coolers in this volume. The anchor holes under the duffel-style handle are large enough to fit thick straps (not those tiny thin ones). The zip feels secure and the rubberized loop is a plus for those with a weak grip. The zipper is smooth. Cons: The shoulder strap pad is sewn in the middle of the strap, so you have to adjust the two slide buckles to change the length (excessive and tedious). Not as basic as a regular duffel strap with a sliding buckle adjuster and a padded strap that wraps around the strap. Side loops (holding a bottle opener) I thought these would be good molle pouch attachments but just saw pics from another user where the seam unraveled with no weight? At first glance they appear to be sewn together fairly tightly (maybe the other reviewer was wrong). One of the main reasons I bought it was to throw molle pouches or cariberas outside to toss things like keys, phones, sunscreen, gum and lip balm so our kids always have easy access. Will update this once I wear some stuff. The cooler will work fine for our purposes, but I wish these side hinges were re-stitched to match the rest of what appears to be a pretty solid and well-designed cooler. I look forward to summer with cold food and drinks but no bruises on my shins from lugging around our monster fridge.
