We have had the original Wii for about 4 years including the 2 original remotes with which we have never had any problems. Now we had to get a third remote control because our child has grown up and now it's impossible to play with just two remote controls. The new remote control I ordered arrived quickly and initially worked well. However, as soon as we started playing a game that used the sounds coming from the remotes, you could hear that that remote had a problem. The sound was very distorted, like a blown speaker. The sound of our original remote controls is perfectly fine. A few times later, the new remote got even more buggy. The 2 original remote controls also work perfectly here, so that screen setting/adjustment is not possible. This new remote control is simply defective. When you move the remote from side to side, the little arrow actually moves diagonally, and when the hand passes over any button, it disappears. So it's not even possible to use it anymore. The batteries are fully charged and this has nothing to do with the battery. Very disappointed. I will be returning this remote and buying another one.
