Let me start by saying this is the best skewer I have ever found. It's the perfect width, just over a quarter of an inch. Wider blades tend to split items like peppers, onions, and mushrooms, while narrower blades allow those items to spin. The only downside is the twisted blade section of about 5 inches at the end of the handle, effectively reducing the usable blade section from 17 inches to 12 inches. The stiffness of stainless steel makes this feature pointless while also significantly reducing functionality. As I said, this is the best skewer I've found, but if they reduced or eliminated that twist, that would be perfect.
