I have to say I am surprised by the negative reviews. As a beginner, I understand the learning curve associated with freehand sharpening. It's frustrating at first, but like everything else, it requires skill! To achieve mastery, you must practice. Aside from not including a leveling stone (which I knew beforehand), you have everything you need to enter the world of sharpening your knives to razor-sharp perfection. PS, you should probably invest in a coarser stone to repair badly worn edges. All in all a great starter kit with very fast shipping, which I am very happy about.
