I like the size LARGE. My Chihuahua mix is 11 pounds, chest 16.5 inches, length 13.5-14 inches, neck 11 inches based on ratings and the manufacturer's size chart. I bought size L, especially since the length is usually the most important size when buying pajamas (the chest can always be a bit small, but you can't go short on length!). L was too big for him. Not only did the length of his tail fall off (making his legs too long, so when he sat down and tried to get up his legs got tangled in his legs), his chest sagged a few inches. They proved to be the right fit for my mom's terrier (mixed breed/Dutch Smoushond?) 17 lbs, 19 inches, chest, 14.5 inches, 11.5 inches long. neck of the dog and there was still some recoil in the chest (the chart says 18.5 max)!. (see photos). I'll try M and hope it's not too short but I'm not happy with the price increase in the time I ordered and the day they arrived. Also note that they are VERY THIN. The material is soft velvet but not thick. Your dog won't get any warmer in it than in cotton. They are beautiful and appear to be well made. The print is colorful and very interesting. I hope listing ALL the sizes of both dogs and their weight along with the photos will help others find the right fit first time. I wish more people were specific in their reviews. Every manufacturer is different so it's impossible to tell if my dog wears size "M" etc as I can tell you that for my 11 lb dog I have everything from a small to an extra large and all sizes bought in between. Usually the best advice is to play it safe and go for the production. See chart and order one size up if your dog's measurements are in between. It didn't work this time.
