My aftermarket exhaust and downpipe boomed excessively, with a strong growl while driving. I wanted to have enough control over the tone of the exhaust without a sudden change in volume. The resonator did just that, it was quieter when it was first installed but the volume came back after the resonator collapsed a bit. It was enough to muffle the unbearable buzzing, buzzing noise that was causing the headache. The exhaust now makes a deep rumble when driving, which is actually pleasant to my ears and not overpowering. Mid-rpms show a muffled harsh grunt before tailpipe howl in the 4K peak range and above. In case you're wondering, this is a 2015 Audi S3 8v set to Stage 2 APR.
