I was very happy to receive my first metal Damascus folding knife. One of the things that made me happy was seeing the wrinkles. The knife has arrived and looks great except for one thing. Wrinkles are barely visible. Instead of looking like alternating light and dark stripes, it looks polished to a high gloss. It cuts great and will likely continue to have a great benefit as the wrinkles are visible it would just be nice to see more of that. Maybe I'll dip the knife in acid (which my wife has already vetoed).
