I use this for my 16 lb house cat. He barely fits. But he loves walking with me, so he lets me lock him up. I could carry him on me with his head dangling, which pleases him. I have no doubt that many, if not most, cats would be angry at how small this thing is, so I consider myself lucky to have a good cat. Aside from the small size, there isn't much padding at the base, so you can get a jagged line or bubble line right where the base touches the spine. I wish they had added a pillow in there, but other than those two things, this backpack is awesome. It's a lot stronger than I thought for the price. This was the cheapest pack I could find on Revain and I am very happy with the results. If I thought it would fit more animals I would give it 5 stars. And if I were just judging from my experience considering the cheap price, I would give this one 5 stars. But unless you want the cheapest of these, have an animal over 8-10 pounds, and/or can find an animal that doesn't chafe the lower back, I'd recommend spending a few bucks more.
