Stride Rite Snow Boot: Stylish but not durable enough

I bought the Stride Rite Baby-Boy Made2Play Shay Snow Boot in navy for my little one's first winter. The boots look great and go with most of his winter outfits. I appreciate the roomy size as my son has chubby little feet. However, after a few uses, the boots already show signs of wear. The rubber sole is not as durable as I would expect from winter boots and I'm not sure if they are waterproof. I have yet to test them in heavy snow or rain but I doubt they can keep my feet dry. On the positive side, the boots are easy to put on and take off thanks to the double Velcro closure. The inner lining is soft and warm and provides good insulation on cold days. They are lightweight and don't affect my son's mobility at all. Overall, I give the Made2Play Shay Snow Boot by Stride Rite Baby-Boy 3 stars. While stylish and functional for light winter outdoor activities, the lack of durability and water resistance prevent me from giving an unqualified recommendation.

Pros
  • Finally found a shoe for my son's wide feet.
Cons
  • Boots may not be suitable for children with wider feet as they only come in one width size. This may make some children uncomfortable and limit the market for the product.
