This gauge will at least give you an idea of when to stop pumping, rather than just guessing at a tiny hand pump. However, it is only accurate to within about 10psi. The pressure gauge tends to stick and then jump 5-10psi at a time, so I usually just keep pumping until it exceeds the minimum pressure I'm comfortable with (usually 60psi). Then I know that's about what I want without going too high. Good enough for most purposes. The measuring part seems to unscrew itself, so please tighten it before use. Mine didn't really fall apart. I actually use it with a small Lezyne Pressure Drive and keep them together in a plastic bag that contains an ABS-handled pressure gauge. Again, other reviews warn of gauge hose reliability issues, so I guess there's no harm in having the original ABS hose handy just in case. I gave an extra star for the sheer convenience of the design.
