Great for babies who want to stay in their crib

These toys can be a great blessing. To say that these things don't work for every child. I have three children and one of them was helped by a pacifier like this. However, it might work for you, and if you're desperate to help your little one "settle down," you'll do anything. This toy is incredibly soft, and even the "rubber-plastic" part on the front feels like silicone or something and is soft enough for your older child to hug. This little hippo turns on when he hears your baby scream. Keep in mind that an adult "rehearsal" scream will not activate it. The child's cry is specific and only works with this sound. This can be great since other random noises around the house don't randomly trigger it. On the other hand, if you're trying to soothe your little one on your own because he doesn't collapse and accidentally let out a short cry, it will work. Battery life is great, but accessing the battery requires the world's smallest screwdriver, which is not included. Soft fur is easy to wash, so there are no problems with cleaning. The size is ideal for a toddler who might want to sleep with a toy. The only real complaint I have is that the volume really isn't low enough for my liking. Well, if you have a huge kid's room and plan on holding the toys to the other side, you might be fine, but in my small 9x9 bedroom, it's pretty noisy for my little one. Although I really wanted to give 5 stars, I just can't.
