I ended up sending back one of the 3 bottles I bought because after 2 bottles in 3 weeks I'm still having the same problem. I don't mind the lemongrass/ginger smell, but it seems like it just masked the cat pee smell, not eliminated it as intended. I used a black light and then correctly applied the product to 3 small 10" square areas of the carpet and saturated the marked areas. I waited and then reapplied twice within 7 days. When the smell of the product disappeared, the smell of urine returned with a vengeance! So I started the process over to get the first bottle ready…. This time, not only was full saturation applied to three small areas, but also a diameter of about 3 inches around the area. It seems that the smell of urine has disappeared a bit, so after a few days I continued the treatment. Now that the second bottle is over and three weeks later I understand that this product did nothing for the cat pee problem. I took pictures using black light to define the areas and then took the same pictures again... You can see in the pictures the areas are only slightly faded which tells me this product doesn't really do anything. Yes, I understand my cat has probably used the same spots many times, but that doesn't mean he peed a gallon every time. I ended up removing the carpet, spraying the floor with Odoban several times a week, putting carpet on top and now it doesn't smell at all. My black light confirms that my cat has not repeated his bad behavior.
