Does not keep coffee hot for too long. Not like my sealed thermos. However, it insulates better than a styrofoam cup or glass jug. The bowl closes very well and does not leak. The best thing about this mug is that it cannot be knocked over. I work on electronics, sitting on my desk and always knocking something down with my elbows.
