Review on Toshiba Exceria Pro: 64GB High-Speed πŸ’Ύ Memory Card - Ultimate Performance and Reliability by Joshua Talbot

Cheaper alternative Lexar 1000X

Runs about the same speed on my computer and camera as the Lexar 1000X for slightly less money (at least in the Gold Box case). I got 120MB/s read and 60MB/s write with a Lexar card reader on a new Macbook Pro. On my Nikon D800E, the number of shots before the buffer was full was almost the same at 21 frames for an uncompressed 14-bit NEF photo. The things this card doesn't give you compared to Lexar is life-saving software, a lifetime warranty, and Lexar's excellent RMA process. I don't really know how Toshiba's RMA process works and I hope I never find out. I know I returned a 4 year old Lexar card that stopped working and was promptly given a new replacement. I bought it on a whim because it was the deal of the day, so it was about 15% cheaper than the Lexar. , but I don't think I'll get another one because there's really no speed advantage and a lot of unknowns in terms of quality.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Not bad
