The first thing I did when it arrived was leave it outside for a week - there is a strong chemical smell. I didn't like this part, but other than that it was pretty easy to put together. My 1.5 year old used it for the first time today. She likes to shove him across the room and he lifted her high enough to use the kitchen sink. She can't go up alone as the first step is directly below the second (I believe it's a ladder, not a ladder). She can't walk/climb well enough to maneuver so I just put her on the top step. The bar that keeps it from falling forward is great - just the right height!
