Update: Mold, severe breakdown and surprisingly poor customer service left me no choice but to downgrade this review to 1 star. I bought several of these and almost all of them had problems sooner or later. It looks like mold is inevitable on this mattress. And it's kind of disgusting to breathe 8 hours a day. I will be doing everyone reading this a huge favor. I'm going to tell you how I got the best bed and it started with this mattress. First, let me say that I've spent an unusually long time buying a mattress. I gave up shopping a while ago and have been testing latex and foam options for a number of years. The price, durability and ease of purchase are hard to beat. I've tried all major options; Purple, Tuft and Needle, Dreamforce, Tempurpedic etc. The first Zinus mattress I had was completely ruined (pics attached). But Revane quickly replaced him. The most common complaint about this mattress is that it's too hard and I get what you're talking about. I'm a big (fat, 300+) guy so I like the company. But most people who have been in bed are not that tall. So I decided to take advantage of the fact that it was so cheap and went ahead and added two more items. First the DreamFoam Bedding DF20GT2066 2 Inch Memory Foam Bedding Topper, King, Aqua Blue. Second, the ultra-plush, eco-friendly, hypoallergenic bamboo mattress topper from the Cheer Collection - King, this pillow topper adds another layer of cushion while still seeming to subtract the chill factor from the topper - arguably the best mattress I've experienced better than Purple, Tuft and Needle, Tempurpedic, etc., all for less than $400! and doesn't get too hot. I have some tips that I think really help. First, make sure it is installed on a completely flat surface. Mattress. I feel like it has some value. Second, use a mattress topper for Zinus. This thing should last forever if you don't damage it, so take good care of it. With the other two covers you will never touch the mattress. Just replace the toppers every few years. A bonus suggestion, especially considering this whole setup is so cheap, is to treat yourself to some bamboo leaves. HotelSheetsDirect 100% Bamboo Duvet Set (Royal, Dark Grey) They look great and are only $50. As for pillows, I would recommend buying both traditional pillows and latex fillings. Combo is a nice addition. I really support this suggestion, so I hope someone finds it useful. Inform me. One year update: the mattress and pillows are still fantastic. I change it once a month as usual. Still perfect.
