I am a personal trainer and encourage most of my clients to take BCAAs, but I have stopped myself. Well it really came back to haunt me for the last week or so. I started to feel tired, my body ached all the time, I felt like I was constantly on the verge of injury - and I stopped exercising because my body wasn't recovering from the workout. I worked out on Monday and was still in pain through Friday, which is well above normal for me (I usually have moderate pain on day 2, and that's when I've had DOMS. Soreness in muscles isn't typical for me in general.) . I could just FEEL that my body had too much inflammation and swelling and it showed on the scale. My boss, another fitness pro, pushed me to start using BCAAs again and recommended Xtend as a brand that he thought was good. I took a dose yesterday almost immediately after receiving the package and immediately felt better. I took another post workout dose last night and my recovery issues are gone. Almost nothing hurts today, I don't feel tired and lethargic, my body is working well again. I eliminated 3 pounds of excess inflammation according to my weight between yesterday and today. Write it off as a placebo effect if you will, but two servings of Xtend BCAAs and I feel like a competent athlete again after two to three weeks of feeling horrible.
