This is a fantastic representation. It's bright, with vibrant, accurate colors and decent black levels. This is my first IPS and the 4K resolution is amazing. I've been playing 1080p for a long time. This is an Asus VG248QE 144Hz upgrade. I think 4K IPS 5ms 60Hz is much better than 1080p TN 1ms 144Hz. Resolution and IPS image quality are much more important. I can still play games like Call of Duty on these 4K 60Hz. The MX27UC has low input lag and excellent pixel response time. As far as I can tell there are no halos. I think 144Hz is more of a gimmick. However, a higher refresh rate will help reduce screen tearing. That doesn't really bother me. Most of the time it's not that noticeable. What always catches the eye is 4K IPS. It is very good. The only downside is that most websites are not designed to scale at such a high resolution. I use a GTX 980 Ti and I can play almost every game perfectly. The picture is flawless. Nothing to fault. No dead pixels, no backlight bleeding etc. It's just perfect! My only complaint is that I went through two of these to get one that didn't go bad. The first one also had a perfect picture, but it flickered about every five to ten seconds and the DisplayPort didn't work. This replacement works great! I couldn't be happier.
