Draws out more juice than you think.
Pros: A 5w bulb was perfect for my 10 gallon tank. Excellent quality of light, LOVE the ability to rotate the bulb to provide indirect lighting. The bad news: According to my wattmeter, that single bulb uses 30 watts! The bulb itself may only be 5 watts, but the part inside that converts AC to DC for use by the LEDs uses electricity! Not compatible with my solar power system, very bad. However, I found an LED lighting wand (Tetra makes one) that draws less than 3W. Update August 22nd: Upgrade to four stars for excellent customer service! Since I wasn't happy with their product, the company contacted me to offer an immediate full refund without worrying about returning it.
