ULANZI ST-06 Phone Tripod Mount (with Cold Shoe) can be useful if you have a thin phone without a case, but it just won my Samsung Galaxy NOTE 9 not *HOLD* while the protective case is on the phone. Oh, the cradle opens wide enough to *BREAK* the phone and case, but the phone just pops out of the cradle once you let go of the phone. I took the time to remove the phone from its protective case and then the tripod mount holds the phone in place. However, this defeats the purpose of a protective cover. Also, I would prefer the screw lock that tightens on the phone over the sliding ratchet mount that comes with this mount as you can't fully tighten the mount between ratchet stops. Because of this issue, I just don't trust this mount to hold my phone in place. And that's a shame because I was looking for a good cold shoe tripod mount.
