Review on GOgroove AudiOHM RNF Durable Earbuds - Heavy Duty Headphones With Thick Aramid Fiber Reinforced Cable Headphones by Stephanie Smith

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Arrived awkward and defective

First, mine were defective. The volume of the left earphone rises and falls right out of the box. It doesn't bother me too much that this issue is more than a one off unfortunate issue, I've had a few other even cheaper GOgroove headphones that have been fine. So I returned them for a refund. But the issue that will prevent me from ordering them again is that they were terribly uncomfortable in the ears, and while the bulky cable and headphone jack are necessary for durability, they claim to be very difficult to use. The cord didn't unwind and was very noticeable and annoying, and the plug was so bulky (and L-shaped) that I couldn't plug it into the phone jack with a phone case (never had a problem with other headphones) and even without it the L shaped plug was really good at catching things (mostly the edge of my bag) and turning them off. The cheaper Gogroove Gen-1 is my pick for cheap rugged headphones. They last longer than any other affordable headphones I've found and are comfortable to wear with no other odd quirks to speak of. I can't say anything about the sound quality as I'm not a music lover and mainly listen to podcasts.

Pros
  • There's something in it
Cons
  • Weak set
