I bought this cartridge to replace another AudioTechnica cartridge of unspecified age in my Technics SL-Q3 turntable. Installation was fairly easy as the mounting flanges are threaded so no fiddling with tiny nuts. The cartridge came with no adjustment tools, so I used the original shell position from the previous cartridge as a guide, which got me very close to the mark. I found a cartridge protractor online and used it for the final alignment. I set the reference weight to 1.8g and the anti-skate to 2g and it's going great. As for the sound quality, I have nothing to complain about. If you're a conscientious audiophile with state-of-the-art components and golden ears, you can certainly find much better pickups (for a lot more money), but my setup is modest, with the aforementioned turntable, $20 built-in preamp, home theater receiver Yamaha RX- V383 and used Pioneer 15" 3-way speakers. The sound is clear and balanced, the bass is neither heavy nor too bright. I don't think you can find better cartridges for the money.
