Review on Alumilite Amazing Mold Rubber 0 77 by Carla Anderson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not as long as I was hoping but good product while it lasts

This stuff is pretty easy to use, it's a container for a mold and mix ratio that might confuse you. If you're making a whole container, great - just pour the liquid into the goo, mix and pour. But if you're making a smaller batch, that's 10 parts silicone to 1 part liquid. I use the scale in grams and it works fine. You have a few minutes to mix before it sets, so stir and pour quickly. I blow air bubbles onto the surface with a straw. The rubber hardens in about four hours. I've made about 6-7 molds with this material and it's a great replica of your original and my resin pieces turned out great. He communicates details very well. However, both of my molds are already "done" as they have started to decompose and stick to my resin pieces. I emailed the company today about the shelf life of these molds (I was hoping they would last longer than 4 months) and a support rep informed me that this product will produce molds that will last around 30- 50 "moves" (i.e. castings) are good). ). You can get close to 50 puffs if you use a release agent. I really wish this information was on the box or in the instructions somewhere. So two of my forms are useless and if I use them more often others will join this status. The last piece I pulled out of the rubber mold was actually stuck to it so I had to cut/rip it out. Please see the attached photos of the form which is currently unusable. For a $15 set and molds only rated for 30-50 clicks, I'm not sure I'll be using this product again.

  • molds and molds
Cons
