Review on Seculink 8 Channel Definition Compression Surveillance by Keith Gonzales

Revainrating 1 out of 5

No, seriously not!

Seriously, there are translation programs. It's actually not that difficult to write a reasonably understandable guide. It's either a copy of someone's DVR and they have no idea what they're doing, or they're buying from someone who doesn't give them a manual. What they send is minimalist gibberish. I got one and then a replacement. They keep deleting reviews and giving themselves 5 stars instead of fixing the problems. I'm very tech savvy, I could never figure out what was wrong. 1. RS485 was not working on any device. I got a replacement because one of the hard drive cables was missing. Turns out he wasn't gone, they had a connector behind the keyboard board. In any case, there are holes for attaching a DVR hard drive (NOT INCLUDED, NEED TO BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY). These holes do not fit my standard 3.5" HHD. Not that it matters. The disc is connected, formatted, recorded and the playback function does not work. Not that it matters, recording controls are almost non-existent, or if some software doesn't work you can usually control which cameras are recording, how many frames per minute, disable missing cameras, change the resolution, adjust the motion detector's alarm zone, and be in service hours, camera names, etc. it just doesn't work there. The only thing I managed to save and work with is the time and date. The picture degrades a lot when passing through this device (grain). Flickered several times per second with different high-resolution image stops. The second bar didn't have a blinking bar, but it did have a better resolution image displayed full height but not wide. The width of the image has been shrunk and distorted. You can change options throughout the day, but since it can't save changes or even show you the effects, it never changed. They have a link to your smartphone app but it's for someone else's DVR which doesn't work for that. They actually tell you not to connect through this company's system because they don't want to complain about pirated content. LOL You end up with a DVR with three working functions, a date stamp, a broken picture and a working mouse. I have never tried the LAN function and there is no wireless connection.
