I bought one of these at the Massachusetts County Fair about 30 years ago and it was completely worn out: the handle was broken. Much to my delight, the "new and improved" model has a much longer handle and, more importantly, is much stronger! At 6ft 1in, the longer handle means I don't have to bend over anymore, and the strength of the handle means I won't be bending or breaking it anytime soon! all other "flat" mops come with a sponge, but it must be used correctly! While it's "more natural" to start with your feet rather than pushing the mop forward, this will only push the dirt away from you: don't do it! Place the mop as far forward as possible. On the first pass, pull the wiper toward you, then slide it back the same way. Move the mop right or left depending on where you started and repeat the process. The bottom has been washed twice but due to the rounded head, dirt accumulates on the back edge as seen in the photo. Rinse out the dirt in the sink and dip the mop in the bucket you are using with the detergent you are using. This avoids using dirty water to wash the floor! You can also use this mop to dampen your floor. wn in the photo. Further application: spray floor protection on a blue sponge mop and apply!
